I am ashamed to say that for the first time this year I am dissapointed in Springbok rugby. Not becaue we lost to teams like Leicester and the Saracens (who have 7 South African players in anyway), but that some higher power deemed it necessary for the Boks to play this ridiculous outgoing tour after having the season of a lifetime! What more do they want the boys to prove?
Our team looks tired and overplayed on the field. I agree that we need to give some new players a chance to step it up and play in the big leagues but not when the squad that they select to go consists of some players that don't even make it onto the first team provincial sides!
I think that's enough venting for now.
Any views from anyone else?

I think the different unions sometimes only think about the money in the bank which is ultimately what these games bring but I wouldn't say that the season in the southern hemisphere is actually that long. Not many of the players play in every Super 14 fixture and there are no where near the number of games over there as there are in the northern hemisphere leagues - are they really that tired? Isn't everyone?
Maybe South Africa have just lost a bit of their edge? It is always going to be difficult against club sides and they did lose to a French side which was on fire.
Just need to toughen up I reckon!! Ha ha

Toughen up? Lost their edge? Hmmm.....I could think of a few things that I could say with regards to those ideas, but not on a public forum!Let's just agree to disagree.
With regards to being overplayed, take someone like Victor Matfield, undoubtedly the best lock in current rugby, no actually, I think the best lock to ever play. He was part of the World Cup winning side, Tri Nations winning side, Super 14 winning side, and the Currie Cup winning side. And I think the weekend game against Italy (which thank God we won), was the first time in ages that he started from the bench. I think you also haveto look at the level of rugby we play and the physicality with which we play. I think that that is also a factor.
Springboks, toughen up, that made me laugh now.

This forum is here to entertain too!!
Maybe the Springboks don't need to toughen up, maybe they are as hard as nails but then why do they need a rest? They don't have a long season and playing for your country should not really have tiredness as something of an issue. How can you get overplayed when there are half the number of games as there are in the northern hemisphere?
