Please note that there is a very important presentation, mainly for the parents of the junior players, but to which all members and supporters are invited, of the Paddock Project (the Clubhouse extension plan) in the Clubhouse this Monday, 15th March, at 20h00. Please try to come along and support this important initiative.
On Saturday the 1st XV gained a vital win away at Bromley which sets them up for a 4 game run in to the end of the season and a target of 3rd place. Oaks won 28-10 with tries from Walton, Dodds and Man-of-the-Match Coleman in a spluttering performance which was not helped by a huge number of stoppages. Nonetheless Oaks were happy to regain some composure after a disappointing result the previous week at TJs and at times showed signs of their true potential.
The 2s were at home to a strong Dover team and, despite battling hard throughout, went down 34-20. The Acorns over 45’s were at home to Maidstone over 45’s and, despite the front row of ChiChi, Morris and Thurnell dominating the tight phases, the match was error strewn and only Carling was able to cross to allow a narrow 5-3 win. 62-year young and new father John Peters made a storming comeback, as did Andy Shirtcliff and Mark Hutcheon after several seasons on the sideline. Finally, the B XV had a day off after NAG forfeited their match, clearly daunted by the prospect of facing Steve England’s sidestep.
On Sunday the U17s fought through to their 3rd consecutive Kent Cup Final, seeing off Beckenham, Old Elthamians, Old Becs and Bromley. Tries from Owen, Beale, King, Saunders, and Johnson sealed the victories. This Sunday (14th) Sevenoaks play Camberley at home - KO 14h00 in the semi final of the National Plate. Please come and support – bar open from 12h00.
This Saturday (13th) sees the 1st XV at home to Eastbourne in an important league encounter (kick-off 14h30) while both the 3’s and the Acorns have home fixtures against Tunbridge Juddians with the B XV away to Tunbridge Wells. Come along and support all the teams in action, whether at home or away.

This Saturday, after the 1st XV home game v Eastbourne and the screening of the England v Scotland 6-Nations match, there will be a special Curry and Court session to bring to book all those players that have committed heinous misdemeanours – yes, you know who you are – during the current season both on and off the field. Please make sure that you attend and advise your skippers so that the catering can be arranged.
