DEVON PLATE SEMI-FINAL
Teignmouth under 14’s are through to the Devon Plate Final following an emphatic win over Plymstock.
From the outset Teignmouth pushed Plymstock back varying the play between forwards and backs. Within 10 minutes Right Wing, Josh Davey, scampered over for a try. Outside Centre, Shaun Bayliss added another and Hooker, Kingsley Davis, bulldozed his way over the line from a well worked line out move for a half time score 0 – 15.
The second half was a closer affair. However, Teignmouth back row, Joe Abbot, Jake Allison and Jake Monnington caused havoc and it was Monnington who scored running from half way breaking tackles all the way. Teignmouth at this stage made substitutions. One of them, Louis Walker, who stepped in as Scrum Half, kept up the constant supply of ball to Stand-Off Jack Saunders who in turn spread it wide resulting in Sam Simmonds scoring the best try of the game. Saunders added both second half conversions for a final score 0 – 29.
