TEIGNMOUTH 30 –V- EXMOUTH 20
Teignmouth travelled to Honiton to play two matches the first was against Exmouth who had also travelled. The first half saw Teignmouth take control keeping the ball for long periods and scoring five unanswered tries two by Jamie Kelly and one each for Dan Wollnough, Kyran Rendle and Tom Carr. The second half saw both sides make changes and Exmouth came back into the match with four tries of their own with Aden Fisher adding one tri for Teignmouth.
TEIGNMOUTH 35 -V- HONITON 10
The second game of the day saw Honiton beat Exmouth and set up the two winners to play each other in the last game. Teignmouth started the stronger again playing some excellent rugby in brilliant sunshine with the forwards out playing the bigger Honiton fowards leaving the Teignmouths backs to spread the ball wide and streach the Honiton defence. Winger Jason Jervis scored two tries in the first two minutes with Freddie Fearnly adding another with only five minutes played. Honiton kept using the big forwards only for Teignmouth’s smaller but more committed players to keep making their tackles and then winning the large share of the rucks. Teignmouth scored three more tries through Aden Fisher, Kyran Rendle and a second for Freddie befor half time. Again the second half Teignmouth made changes and kept the pressure up with Peter Brogden scoring one and Honiton replying with two of their own.
