BRIXHAM 10 –V- TEIGNMOUTH 20
Teignmouth produced an excellent display of attacking rugby and if it was not for some very committed defence from Brixham they would have won by a bigger margin. The forwards consisting of Archie Pope, Matt Tribble and Jamie Kelly won the majority of scrums, line outs and rucks allowing half backs Kyran Rendle and Dan Woolnough to set the backs free at every chance. Centres Nick Langly-Pope and Adain Fisher both had good games and supplied their wingers Harvey Glanville and Joe Wilcox with lots possession and both were unlucky not to score, being tackled just short of the try line.
Dan proved again how elusive he is to tackle, particularly when on top form, and as a result, he scored three quality tries, along with Nick who broke several tackles in this own half and raced the length of the pitch to score the other.
SECOND GAME
BRIXHAM 10 –V- TEIGNMOUTH 10
Both sides had extra players and a second match was played. This one was filled with just as much skill and commitment as the first with Teignmouth’s passing and Brixham’s tackling being of the highest quality. Archie and Kyran scored the tries for Teignmouth with Jamie Kelly and Tom Carr only being stopped inches short of the line close to the end for what would have been the winner.
