The Oxfordshire U20 management have delayed naming their final line-up until Friday evening for this Sundays (Mar.4) important RFU National U20 Championship South West A Group match away to Dorset & Wilts at North Dorset RFC, 2-30pm.

Having played and won only one of their scheduled three Group fixtures, due to bad weather, a win on Sunday against the twin counties, whove yet to win a game, is vital if they are to go into next Sundays (Mar.11) final Group match at home to Berkshire with a chance of the A Group title.

Were looking forward to continuing our winning run, admits Oxfordshire team manager Nick Cole. But we are a very wary that Dorset & Wilts will want to end their campaign with a win.

And, he adds, the management have been particularly pleased with the way in which the current squad of club players have integrated well with the Oxford University players for the first time this season.

He says: Were pleased with the squad overall and particularly the way in which the University lads have gelled with the county clubs players.

It should, over the next few seasons, enable us to get through to the later stages of the competition.

Its certainly been a difficult tournament for the Dorset & Wilts management, led by head coach Terry Gilmour, who stepped in at the very last moment to run the team.

At least skipper and flanker Nick Emtage returns to strengthen the squad on Sunday, having missed the match against Berkshire a fortnight ago, while, behind the scrum, Sherbornes Ollie Mottram starts at fly half and theres a new-look centre pairing of Ellinghams Paddy Flood teamed up with Salisburys Marcus Beer.

Team manager Richard Demain-Griffiths says: This last group game at home is a chance for the squad to show how they have come on over the campaign and what potential there is for a young squad to push on next season.
