Your News Must win game for Berks and Bucks U20

Buckinghamshire U20s look to bounce back from last weekends, 20-7, defeat at the hands of Oxfordshire when they face visitors Berkshire at Aylesbury RFC in the third of their National U20 Championship South West Group A matches this Sunday (26th), 2-30pm.

Its a must-win game for both sides as Bucks, who opened their campaign with a fine 15-12 win away to 2011 Group champions Dorset & Wilts before last Sundays reverse, must win to stand any chance whatsoever of progressing.

At the same time, last Sunday, Berkshire U20 were playing their opening match of their Group A campaign and handsomely saw off Dorset & Wilts, 36-25, at Reading.

"We know its going to be hard, but we have home advantage and everything to play for as we are looking to make a statement this weekend after the below par performance against Oxfordshire, states Bucks team manager Chris Smith firmly. With three teams on four points it is imperative that they secure not only a win, but a win with a decent points margin.

Against a strong Berkshire side this is going to be a tough job and Bucks are aware they need to be firing on all cylinders to get the result.

Dan Wood, takes over the captaincy while theres places for Alex Tilbury, scrum half Tom Cormie, prop Alan Briggs and hooker Lewis Jones in the starting line-up.

Berkshire stick to the squad that sent Dorset & Wilts packing last Sunday and will look to improve upon their second-half performance when, leading 24-6 at half-time, indiscipline and ill-timed changes to the line-up let them down in the second-half.

We had the changes and the yellow cards and it all became a bit chaotic so we must tighten up on that, admits Berkshires head coach Mike Tewkesbury. Weve certainly got to improve our discipline and work with the officials.
