Huddersfields Chris Johnson, statistically the best kicker in the entire country, is well on course to pass the 300- point milestone again after contributing 14

points - to take his tally to 241 for the season - in Fields 39-12 win at Otley. The prolific fly- half converted four of his sides five tries at Cross Green and

landed two penalties as Dan Hydes men held onto second place in the division with a seventh straight win. There is still no shifting Loughborough Students

at the summit of the table, though, after they overcame a half- time deficit to record a 24-18 win away to Hull Ionians.

The biggest crowd of the day came at Lightfoot Green, where the 614 spectators saw Preston Grasshoppers survive a late come back from struggling Kendal

to register their first home victory for three games. Luctonians also enjoyed a seasons best crowd for the visit of Bromsgrove, with 585 fans turning up for a

17-5 success against Bromsgrove.

Third- placed Westoe were the biggest winners on the day after picking up maximum points in a 40-10 win at Harrogate. The game between local rivals

Stockport and Caldy was a much closer affair, with Josh Longmore providing all bar five of his sides points with a try, conversion and a couple of penalties in

a 18-16 win for Port.

Elsewhere, Nuneaton defeated Leicester Lions in an ill- tempered clash that produced four yellow cards split evenly between the sides, and Sheffield Tigers

were 35-10 winners at home to Hull.
