UNDER 15’s v NEWTON ABBOT
Teignmouth Under 15’s made the short trip to Newton Abbot and returned with their heads held high although losing narrowly 20 – 14.
From the start Newton pressurised Teignmouth forcing them to concede a penalty which was converted. Newton kept up the pressure which resulted in 2 tries, one converted, to extend their lead to 15 – nil. However, Teignmouth soon got back into the game with Full Back, Ross Manester, scoring after some excellent handling. Fly Half, Jack Saunders, added the conversion.
In the second half Teignmouth began to get more involved in the game and eventually it was Kieran Pattison, making his first appearance of the season following illness, who intercepted going in under the posts the score. Saunders again added the conversion bringing the score to 15 – 14.
With 10 minutes to go Newton used their forward power to secure the game with an unconverted try.
