Teignmouth Under 15’s put in an outstanding team performance against a robust Sidmouth outfit winning 12 – nil.
As expected Sidmouth provided a much sterner test for the young Teigns, however, it was Teignmouth who dominated the first half, keeping Sidmouth on the back foot. Constant pressure eventually produced an unconverted try for Inside Centre Shaun Bayliss for a half time score 5 – 0.
In the second half both sides entertained the crowd with some excellent rugby. Teignmouth always looked sharper outside and after quick ball it was spread wide to Josh Davey who outstripped the Sidmouth defence with his electric pace to score under the posts. Jack Saunders added the conversion. Sidmouth were always a threat but Teignmouth’s defence was solid.
Next week Teignmouth travel to Devonport Services hoping to continue their successful start to the season
