ENGLAND Sevens star Nick Royle will be doing the honours when the Lancashire Club and Colts 7s are held at Blackburn RUFC on Saturday/Sunday, June 11/12.
The Fylde and Lancashire wingman’s career has blossomed since he was invited to step up from England Counties duty and take his elusive and pacy skills into the international sevens arena and in inviting him to present the prizes, Lancashire have identified the ideal man for the job.
Both events will follow the same format kick off on each day being 12.30pm and the Cup and Plate Finals scheduled for 5.30.
There are currently 12 teams entered in each section, but with the closing deadline for entries now this Friday (May 20), there is still time for teams to register.
Clubs involved are Blackburn, Tyldesley, St Edwards OB, Bradford & Bingley, Liverpool St Helens, Burnage, Fylde, Fylde CORE, Warrington, Tarleton, Preston Grasshoppers, Leigh, Crosby St Marys, Burnley, Wigan, Birchfield, Rossendale and Stonyhurst OB.
There is free admission, with bars and catering facilities available throughout the afternoon to supplement the rugby entertainment.
Mark Nelson of the organising committee said: “The Lancashire 7s promises to be a great event with some exciting teams and players on show. It will be a top family day of sporting entertainment in superb facilities at Blackburn Rugby Club.”
