YORKSHIRE rugby union enthusiasts inspired by the excellence on show during England’s valiant effort in the Women’s Rugby World Cup recently will get a chance to see the level of competition further down the pecking order at Barnsley RFC on Sunday, November 7, 2010 when teams from Yorkshire and Lancashire meet.
Even allowing for the huge progress that has been made in the women’s game in recent years, the calibre of skill, athleticism and competitiveness displayed by the international elite players surprised and impressed rugby enthusiasts across the board and provided a superb advert for the women’s game.
Yorkshire girls and women inspired by England’s World Cup adventure now have a perfect opportunity to enjoy the game at close quarters when Barnsley’s Shaw Lane headquarters hosts a series of three Roses matches involving Under 15, Under 15 and Senior women with the first game kicking off at 1.00pm.
